Treat Yourself to an "Evening In" Party

It was the end of a busy day at the post office, and the postal clerk had to reenter my order in the computer. She said she was really stressed out, and dreaded the upcoming holiday rush.  I asked her how she would de-stress herself when she got home. Her reply was immediate: “I am going to get into my jammies, pet my cat, have a cup of tea, and watch a great old movie on TV.” This lady had it right.  Instead of chasing around, for something good “out there” she was going home and having an “Evening In” party for herself.  This time of year we especially need to pause and take a moment to take care of ourselves and reconnect with those close to us.

This time of year we even more overscheduled than usual. Out calendars are filled with parties, pageants, end-of-season championships, fund raisers and more.  We need to take time out to reconnect with our families and ourselves. Hence, the “Evening In” party.
